My name is Daniel Dacey and I’m an I.T. trainer and IT professional with nearly thirty years of experience in both industries. I hold numerous IT qualifications and have worked in large vocational education institutions in two states of Australia, as well as holding numerous IT roles throughout my career.  I now call Tasmania my home, along with my family, two adopted greyhounds and some chooks! I love I.T. and teaching and both those passions were the germ of the idea for my YouTube channel DansTechBytes!

With the increasing demand on teachers and students to do more learning online, I saw a need to create learning resources for I.T. that were relevant and freely accessible. I wanted resources teachers could easily integrate into their teaching and have those same resources in a format that students would already be familiar with and comfortable using and could access on many different devices. Thus, DansTechBytes channel on YouTube was born!

Most of the content I create is made with the Australian school curriculum and nationally accredited training units in mind, but it’s still very much intended to be universal in its application. Wherever you are in the world, if you find this content useful, you are free to use it.

The way I can provide the content for free and to be able to put in the time to create even more content, is with the sponsored ads that appear on the YouTube videos.  The revenue from this helps to pay the bills and keep the lights on for my little part of the internet world. For teachers, learning institutions and businesses, if you keep the videos unaltered and with the ads not blocked, you are free to distribute the links to these videos any way you wish, including embedding them in your learning management system or website. If you need the videos without the ads, I can provide them at a very reasonable cost to you. For students and anyone else, you are free to share the links to the videos. 

I know teachers are under increasing pressure these days to do more and more, especially online and often will have little or no budget or time. Believe me, I have been there!
